HAIR BRAIDING TEACHER

Course Description

This course involves 600 hours of curriculum that meet the State of Illinois requirements. The course includes extensive Theory and practical experience in Classroom Presentation, Educational Psychology, Teaching Methods, Theory Application of Teaching Methods, and Business Methods. The approximate completion of our full-time program is 32 weeks, based on 20 clock hours per week.

COURSE OBJECTIVE:
Upon completion of the course requirements, the graduate will be able to:
​
1. Identify the qualities, characteristics, and practices of a master        educator.
2. Develop Teaching plans and Learning Environment.
3. Teach Study and Testing Skills.
4. Identify Learning Styles and Principles.
5. Execute Basic Methods of Teaching and Learning.
6. Define the different methods of communication.
7. Execute Effective Presentations.
8. Maintain Effective Classroom Management and Supervision.
9. Identify Learning Disabilities.
10. Develop Programs and Write lesson plans.
11. Utilize Education Aids and Technology in the Classroom.
12. Assess Student Progress and advise students.
13. Execute the art of retaining students.
14. Teach business strategies that will nurture a successful career.

COURSE COMPLETION:
Upon completing this 600-hour course, students receive a state-approved final exam that must prove a passing grade of 80% or better on theory and practical skills. Upon completion, the student receives a certificate of completion and a transcript. You must apply to the State Of Illinois to be an issued a professional license.

Day time classes: Monday-Wednesday: 9 am - 3 pm 
Evening classes: Monday-Wednesday: 4 pm -9 pm
